Book #1: The Crooked Trail

Lily Brooke, a community exhibiting small-town charm and a dark, hidden secret, converges one fateful autumn night. MALB, the Mystical Alliance of Lily Brooke, consists of six childhood friends who are bound together in loyalty, friendship, and courage. Together, they face revenge-seeking enchantments intent on haunting the children, for MALB’s trespassing revived yesterday’s battle of good versus evil. The adventure takes young readers along an eerie crooked trail, through a forbidden cave, and inside a mysteriously secluded treehouse.

Magdalena Gottschalk: The Crooked Trail is book #1 of the middle-grade thriller series that invokes magical realism and fantasy to explore faith and belief in a higher power, unity, and teamwork, while celebrating their uniqueness and diversity. It will leave young readers sitting on the edge of their seats, begging to turn the page, and silently rooting for their on-page friends. With a touch of southern charm and tradition, the journey is not for the faint of heart. Witches, wizards, demons, black magic, and soul-searching all have their place in the quaint little town of Lily Brooke, even if their influences are unbeseen by most.
