About

M. Gail Grant is pursuing a Ph.D. in English through Liberty University, with an expected dissertation defense in the spring of 2027, researching how American Postmodern works of literature depict psychosocial pathologies as an extension of late capitalism and spiritual transference. Grant earned a Master of Arts in Professional Writing, dual concentrations in Composition and Rhetoric and Creative Writing, and a Graduate Certificate in Professional Writing for International Audiences. Additionally, M. Gail earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a minor in Sociology through Kennesaw State University.

Currently, Grant teaches Analytical Writing at the University of California, San Diego, where she enjoys helping students utilize their scholarly voices in the pursuit of academic endeavors. Previously, she taught English Composition I and II at Kennesaw State University. As of August 2026, Grant joined the KSU Radow College Board of Visitors.

Grant’s research interests include the discovery of how narrative devices and rhetorical strategies are employed as a means to persuade the intended audience. Furthermore, Grant continues to embrace multidisciplinary approaches to explore how literary works continue to expose the human condition: the good, the bad, and the worst – social inequities that continue to permeate modern-day societies. In her spare time, M. Gail enjoys writing and sharing poetry that almost always ponders life’s everyday idiosyncrasies.
